América; Useful and versatile!
The collection was born to integrate a light on a side table. Hence, arose the concept of America. Created to be positioned between two armchairs or beside a sofa because of its side table function. This is a design that is characterized by its usefulness as it can be used both as a domestic or contract product. The model consists of a base America polyurethane expanded, with a lacquered finish in white or black. On the base rises a metal stem. The dimmer is located at the rear of the base. The shade may be white or black, lacquered or translucent Chinz. Can be used in the countries participating in the ENEC agreement: main voltage 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz. E-27 Max. 2 x 100 W. Base= 60cm x 40cm, total height= 142cm.


Jaime Hayón
Spanish artist / designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid 1974. He trained as an industrial designer in Madrid and Paris.
In 1997, he began working as a researcher in Fabrica, Benetton Group's communication research center in Treviso, Italy. A year later, he was appointed, by Mr. Luciano Benetton and communication guru Oliviero Toscani, head of the design department, where he oversaw the development of interiors for shops, exhibitions and restaurants as well as books, magazines and logo designs.
In 2004, he began his individual career and has kept his hands full with eclectic projects. From toys, to furniture and interior design as well as artistic installations, his boldness has been transcending the borders of the often separated worlds of art and design, merging his own style with ease between the two.
Being a multifaceted creator, Jaime's work has developed in diverse areas: from curatorial roles, to those of an artist, to that of a designer.
As a curator he has organized, along with the British Council and Experimenta, events of relevance like the latest edition of the Lisbon Biennial of design. He has also participated in conferences and lectures worldwide, evidence of his relevance as contemporary voice.
As an artist, his exclusive furniture design work was first brought to life at London's David Gill Gallery, where his "Mediterranean Digital Baroque" exhibit has enormous success. His work has also been shown at the Vitra design Museum and the Design Museum in London, where the bathroom collection was recently exhibited in the "tank" as the lead tendency representing European design.
"Mon Cirque", a storytelling installation, has been presented in Barcelona, Minneapolis, Lisbon, Paris and Cologne with tremendous success.
Hayon's latest itinerary exhibit "Stage" was first shown at the Aram Gallery in London and was awarded the Icon magazine Best Installation prize for Design week 2006. Stage is currently being exhibited at the Vivid Gallery in Rotterdam and will soon open in Madrid.
"AQHayon", Hayon's bathroom collection for Artquitect Launched in 2005, caused a tremor in the bathroom industry and design community and placed him on the forefront of the design tendencies.
His "Showtime" furniture collection for BD Ediciones de diseño has received worldwide attention and recognition.
In 2007, Hayon presented his Pixel ballet Installation at the Salone Del Mobile (Milan Furniture Fair) in collaboration with Bisazza.
During this same year, he presented pieces for Swarovski and a personal exhibition of his work for Artquitect, Metalarte and Bd: J'aime.
Hayon's work in interior design includes 5 concept stores for Camper and his most recent project: La Terraza del casino, Michelin star chef's(Paco Roncero) restaurant at the legendary Casino de Madrid that the Herald Tribune immediately nominated as interior of the year.
Currently with base in Barcelona, Italy and London, Hayon has been awarded by Wallpaper as one of the 10 breakthrough creators worldwide as well as the 2006 Elle Deco International Award.
Clients such as Benetton, Metalarte, Artquitect Edition, Coca-Cola, Danone Group, bd ediciones, Adidas, Palluco, Piper Hiedsieck and Camper work with Hayonstudio.
Hayon‘s work has been featured in all major design publications and newspapers worldwide.
